The Lighting Project
The Sheringham Environment Focus Group have been working with the Norfolk County Council lighting department (SPCP's project contractor) on the choice of the new lamp columns and standards. Street lights throughout the town will be replaced with new blue columns and globes. The lanterns will be the most up to date and are downlighters with pure white light which improves the images taken by the towns CCTV cameras. They also use less electricity and have a newly created dimmer switch to reduce the electricty use saving energy and money! The styles were chosen by the group following public consultation when the globes were on display in the SheringhamPlus shop.
The scheme will cover Station Road, High Street, Church Street and the Boulevard and will include architectural lighting schemes around the Town Clock and War Memorial.
